August 26th with winds out of the Northeast at 10 to 15 with large swells mixed in with some very lumpy seas to make it difficult at times to find a good groove. The swells made for some fun surfing on the downwind legs. The winds built to 20 and shifted right a bit as the day progressed. The race committee mixed it up with two windward leeward courses and a triangle to round out the three race series. It was a good day for sailing and a great day for photos, but not for taking them while sailing.
Thanks for visiting, Dan Neff.
On the First down wind leg Christine and I were rounding just behind Paul-Jon and crew. I couldn't resist taking a picture so I carefully snapped the fleet astern catching Glen Schaffer and Debbie Hoagland on a nice plane.
As I snapped this photo, Christine and I surfed past Paul-Jon into the lead. We held onto the lead for about three quarters of the way up the second beat. Both Paul-Jon and Peter Beam snuck by us.
Another photo of the first downwind leg.

Bob Rich, Michael Rich, and Conor O'Sullivan. Race 3.
After Christine and I realized we made a mistake by rounding the wrong leeward mark we with drew from race 3. Conditions were still a bit hairy, but I was able to snap a picture of Peter Beam (5171) and Chris Danilek (5626) fighting it out for rights at the leeward mark. This gives you a good since of the swell.
